About Laser Tag Tasmania

What makes your laser tag different from others?

We use exclusive SafePlay Covers and custom pop-up covers for safety and quality. Our setup is designed to meet WorkSafe Tasmania standards and ensures a controlled, secure environment for players. Our equipment is state-of-the-art, lightweight, and easy to use, providing a fantastic, immersive experience for participants of all ages. We don’t use ad-hoc covers that are not specifically designed for mobile laser tag. Not all covers are equal, as the choice of cover is important for player safety. As an event organiser, you do not want somebody injuring themselves on a star picket.

Are you the cheapest?

We sincerely hope not! While we strive to offer competitive pricing, our priority is providing the safest and best-quality experience possible. Achieving this means investing in proper safety measures, qualified staff, and fair employment practices.
Safety first: Implementing all necessary safety parameters does come at a cost, but it ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Qualified team: We only employ trained and qualified staff, ensuring professionalism and safety at all times.
Fair employment practices: Our staff are paid fairly, including travel, accommodation, and allowances when working away from home.
Unfortunately, in this industry, some operators aim to be the cheapest, often cutting corners on safety, training, or equipment, which increases the risk of injury. Many of these operators don’t last long.

Our goal has never been to be the cheapest—we aim to be the best by offering the safest, most reliable, and highest-quality laser tag entertainment at an affordable price.

Do you provide staff to run the games?

Yes, our founding owner is one of Australia’s most experienced operators, with two decades in the industry, personally running engaging laser tag sessions and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Our team handles setup, game facilitation, and pack-down, allowing you to enjoy a hassle-free experience.

Events and Bookings

Do you offer birthday party packages?

Currently, we focus on providing laser tag services for major events, such as school holiday programs, youth camps, community events, and corporate team-building sessions. While we don't cater specifically to birthday parties, our mobile setup is perfect for larger-scale gatherings where we can provide a high-quality experience for a broader audience.

Do you offer kids' birthday parties at home or in parks?

Our area of expertise at Laser Tag Tasmania is putting on big events that utilise the most of our cutting-edge equipment and distinctive SafeBunker™ system. Visit Tas Laser Skirmish in Hobart for smaller, more private birthday parties; it's well-equipped for such events. This guarantees a top-notch laser tag experience catered to certain requirements. Thank you for your understanding; we hope to see you at one of our bigger private or public events!

Can you accommodate large-scale events?

Absolutely! We specialise in larger events and can scale our setup to handle high participant numbers, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees.

How much does a mobile laser tag event cost?

Pricing depends on the size and duration of your event, as well as the number of players. For specific details, please contact us directly so we can tailor a package to suit your needs.

Do you operate at OSHC – outside school hours care holiday programs?

Yes, we do operate at OSHC (Outside School Hours Care) holiday programs, providing interactive laser tag sessions. Additionally, we offer a self-hire option that has proven to be a more economical choice for many OSHC programs. With this option, we send you a "Laser Tag in a Box" kit, complete with all the necessary equipment and easy-to-follow instructions, so your team can run the activity at your own convenience. It’s a flexible and cost-effective way to bring the fun of laser tag to your program!

Equipment and Safety

Are your laser tag phasors safe?

Yes, our laser tag phasors are completely safe. They do not use actual lasers or projectiles. Instead, our phasors are electronic devices that emit a safe infrared (IR) beam, similar to what a TV remote uses, to tag other phasors. Importantly, our phasors are classified as toys, ensuring they meet strict safety standards for play.

What about safety measures?

At Laser Tag Tasmania, safety is our top priority. We have been operating safely for 21 years and carry a $20 million public liability insurance policy within Australia. Here’s how we ensure safety at every event:
Safe equipment: Our laser taggers do not shoot any projectiles, and we use only the safest play covers, purpose-built to minimise risks.
Comprehensive risk assessments: We conduct a detailed risk assessment document for every event.
Qualified staff: All our staff hold current Working with Vulnerable People cards, and we always have a certified first-aid holder on-site.
Worker support: We maintain a workers' compensation insurance policy and ensure all staff are paid their correct entitlements, including travel and accommodation for events requiring travel.

With these measures, we provide a fun, engaging, and safe laser tag experience for everyone involved.

Locations and Setup

What locations do you service?

We are fully mobile and service events across Tasmania, bringing laser tag directly to your location. Whether your event is in a park, at a school, or part of a community festival, we can adapt to most settings. We are also available for major interstate events.

What size area is needed for a mobile laser tag setup?

For outdoor setups, we recommend a grass area approximately 35 x 35 metres to ensure an optimal experience. For smaller spaces or indoor setups, we can work within a minimum area of 10 x 15 metres. Our SafePlay Covers and pop-up covers are designed to adapt to various locations, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants.

How many players can participate at a time?

The number of players we can run simultaneously depends on the available space and the size of your event. For smaller areas, we limit the number of players per game to ensure everyone has an enjoyable and safe experience.

How much space is required for your safe inflatable cover?

If setting up outdoors and space is no issue, we like a grass area of 50 x 50 meters. However, if space is tight, we can reduce requirements down to 10 x 15 metres. This is also the minimum recommended size for an indoor setup. We like to ensure we have enough area for the setup of our safe inflatable cover to accommodate the number of players. So, the smaller the area, the fewer players we will run at the same time. We pride ourselves on making sure we provide the best possible experience

Do you set up indoors?

Yes, we do! Our exclusive SafeBunker™ and Safe Play Cover allow us to construct a laser tag field safely indoors. Unlike makeshift setups that use tables and chairs, which significantly increase the risk of injury, our high-quality covers are purpose-built for laser tag. This ensures a controlled and safe environment for players of all ages, without compromising on the fun and excitement.

What happens in bad weather?

Our pop-up covers are versatile and can be adapted for use in various weather conditions. If extreme weather prevents outdoor play, we can work with you to arrange an alternative indoor setup if space is available.
